The ChiaoGoo TWIST Red Lace cables can be combined with all ChiaoGoo interchangeable knitting needle tips and Tunisian crochet hook tips. The flexible and red nylon-coated steel cable consists of several steel wires, which prevents twisting or kinking during knitting. For a longer cable, two cables are simply connected using a ChiaoGoo cable connection. The cables have a hole at the ends that fits the cable wrench, which is used to attach the needle tip to the cable. The holes are also useful for inserting a stitch holder (or lifeline) into the knitting for safe shearing or for recovering dropped stitches. 

General information applicable to all interchangeable parts of ChiaoGoo

The thread size is clearly visible in the knitting needle tips and cables lasered:

M = [MINI] for needle sizes US 3-0 up to US 1.5 (needle length 4" and 5" cm) and US 3-0 up to US 3 (needle length 3")
S = [SMALL] for needle sizes US 2 up to US 8 (needle length 4" and 5") and US 4 up to US 8 (needle length 3")
L = [LARGE] for needle sizes US 9 up to US 15 (needle lenght 4" and 5")

[MINI] is not compatible with thread sizes [SMALL] and [LARGE] and therefore all [MINI] needle tips require a[MINI] cable. Please note that the 4" and 5" [MINI] needle tips are too long for use with the 5, 13 or 15cm [MINI] cables. However, the cable length can be easily extended by means of a [MINI] cable connector. ChiaoGoo also offers adapters to connect products with [MINI], [SMALL] and [LARGE] thread sizes.
